Is The Earth Flat or What?

Well meaning Christians, such as those that built the new multimillion dollar Creation Museum in Ohio http://www.creationmuseum.org/, are unfortunately keeping Christians categorised with the Flat Earth Society. Many Christians still believe that the Bible says that the earth is only six thousand years old but the Bible doesn't say how old the earth is. Science has proven that the earth is billions of years old and this causes them to scoff at Christians and Christians loose influence as a result.
Those who promote the young earth theory can make some convincing arguments. They say (and I tend to agree) that the scientific dating processes such as carbon dating are unreliable. Even if that is true there is one method (Tree Rings) that proves conclusively that the earth is older than ten thousand years. Even though that isn't so old it disproves the method that they use.
There is one thing that young earth advocates can not explain, that is the existence of fossils. They can only explain them away by proclaiming that God obviously made the earth to look older than it is. They even say that God created light waves that extend from objects in space so that we can see them despite them being billions of light years away. Well, you say, couldn't God have done that? The answer is no. God can not lie or be deceitful and this is their most compelling failure.
The first two verses in the 19th Psalm is God's endorsement of science and we Christians need to get with the program. The earth is as old as God made it. I don't mean to endorse the scientists themselves but anything that we can prove by observing God's creation is a message from God Himself.
